Saw it today at 11:45 am, anything before noon is half off, $30 instead of $60. And I had a $7.50 coupon from Gamestop. And I used my AMC card for points and got free soda and popcorn. Shucks, we had to pay for a cab, I add that into my costs. We saw the Imax 3D, this 51 year old can’t tell 3D vs Imax vs whatever.
First, Andy is going off to college and it makes me think. I waited my whole life for this amazing gift of parenthood. Luckily many parts of America are smart enough to give equal rights, so this gay man (me) could be a dad. In 11 more years I am supposed to be stuck here alone with my spouse? I am not raising this kid to let him go. Ever. Prospective wives will be interviewed and the first question will be “How do you feel about your father-in-law living in your basement?”
I fully intend on following my son to college, don’t worry, I won’t try be his roommate, I may be in a different part of town, but I didn’t wait my whole life to let him go. Ever. The teenage years are going to have to be something awful for me to let him go. And if they are, well, I have to follow him to punish him! I have every angle worked out. Sleepover camp is already out when he is older. I have a hard enough time when he sleeps at my mother-in-laws for 1 night every 3 day weekend. I do it for practice, trying to fight my co-dependency. ITS NOT WORKING!
Sorry, back to TS3, as we in the business call Toy Story 3. It was GREAT. I have not been enjoying my son’s cartoon movies for over a year, but this changed everything. The writing was more for adults, with the fun cartoon stuff for kids.
SPOILER ALERT
When Mr. Potato Head became Mr. Tortilla person, I almost died. Sheer brilliance. When Buzz became a Spanish Flamenco smooth talker, I almost peed myself. And I had read in the paper this movie made grown (straight) men cry, so I prepared myself and started crying early on!

This movie was fantastic.
The reviews are 100% correct.
I am so upset I threw away all the Buzz and Woody toys! I need them back!
LOL I agree whole heartedly. If Matthew ever decides to move across country Im heading there with him!!! -Phil
I went with the kids to see Toy Story and absolutely loved it. I had tears in my eyes because my son Matt will be going to college in two years. I feel like you, I don’t think I will ever be ready for him to leave.
