Firstly, it was shocking to my out of town relatives that my son used chopsticks. Granted, they were kiddie chopsticks, my mom could have used them, but out of Manhattan a lot of kids do not try to immerse themselves in other cultures. Some do, we try to all the time. Imagine how proud I am of my son who now only uses adult chopsticks! And he is not even 7. Since we are all shopaholics, we also bought our own pair each of chopsticks after our last Chinatown trip. How annoying are we?
The real reason I am posting today is to talk about tomatoes. I over heard my son telling someone that he prefers heirloom tomatoes. Who is this kid? Again, he is almost 7 and he already is bragging about eating the better type of tomato! I love this! I am raising a food snob and I could not be prouder! My own dad refers to me as a food yuppie. I do not take any of this as insulting!
