The best kept secret of New York City in my opinion is the aquarium trips available just by walking downtown to Chinatown. It started off slow for us on Grand Street, nothing too amazing. After lunch we ended walking up Mott Street and it was better than a trip to the Brooklyn Aquarium. The bottom picture is of a fish just brought out of the tank to show customers how fresh the fish are (you can’t get more fresh than still being alive!), you can see this guy is still jumping around. My son and I loved this place! Next was the tub of frogs, fresh for Sunday dinner! I offered to buy them to make frog legs but my son declined. They were quite a lively crew, more so than the buckets of them further down the block. The top 2 pictures are the many fish tanks in a delicious Dim Sum restaurant that I would have been happy to eat in after our earlier lunch, caution to the wind, I like to eat! My son is outside the restaurant, and I am inside, so you get views from the both sides. And these tanks can be found all over Chinatown! We had a blast walking around viewing the restaurant tanks and the open fish markets. There was more activity in some of those fish stores than we see in the “real” aquariums!
