Early because we are off all of the following week but my mother-in-law took us away this weekend. As long as I make it home, the only Jew in the midst of 28 Italians. I hope I am not in the red sauce they cook for tomorrow’s Sunday dinner! Cause I am tender and fat!
Yesterday’s ride was fine, with 1 long pit stop we still made it here in 2 1/2 hours. The first thing we do when we unpack in the house is to proceed to the first meal and stuff our faces. The eating is good here. My son is a game room guy, he is costing us a lot in quarters, but he tells us that this is his vacation and we have to accede to his wishes (not his language of course!). Then we went to the Jungle Jim which is fantastic, and one of the many things I love about my son is his ability to make friends with any boy he meets, they hang together as if they have known each other a long time. I was not like that, I grew up nervous around people – I am sure my friends today would find that shocking. Anyway, I think it is the straight boy thing, the way they are ll automatically friends. We also did bumper cars as a family, just the 3 of us, that was awesome!
Dinner was another fun full meal, we all brought provisions up with us to fill the house’s pantry so we could eat well for 4 days. You have to have your priorities! At 730 we headed to the lodge for the horse racing, the event we schedule the visit around. They are fake horses that move depending on how the dice are thrown, the whole group has a great time and the last race we bought a horse! We lost but we love the odds, 1:6! Me, I played Powerball at home, I am glad it finally came to NY State, I usually buy them when we come to this Pennsylvania getaway as this was the nearest state it used to be available in.
Today I cooked everyone omelets and bacon, at least here the kids appreciate my cooking!
We did snow activities for 3 hours, Paul built an igloo, kids rolled down the snow banks, and a little ice hockey. I did love to see the kids fall down the snow hills, it is quite humorous and everyone enjoys it.
I am here at the www.woodloch.com home base in their computer room, I will try to keep the updates coming as I know my large fan base lives for these stories! Thank-up all for tuning in!
