We saw the Fantastic Mr. Fox this afternoon. It was quite enjoyable, I was sorry I missed it at the half price theatre but it is a movie I would recommend for kids and their parents.
We were early and after making it clear to my son that we would not buy anything at Forbidden Planet where we went to kill some time (my son calls it the Dr. Who store, I enjoy that!) I proceeded to shop! What do you do when Terminator Salvation foot tall figures are on sale for 5.99 from over $30, and I had a 15% off membership? You have to buy, it is a law of nature.
Which brings me back to my morning which started way to early (6 am, it is my spouses fault!), I had some items to return. I started at Toysrus at 915 am, they were having a sale and I had a $5 coupon for the Times Square store (always check your Kids Time Out NY!) plus a 12.99 return. I bought some DS cartridges for my son, buy one under 20, get one half off. Needless to say I added 4 to our collection for very little money, and this is on top of the 4 I bought on eBay yesterday, all under 15 as well, I am good at what I do! I also bought 2 Leapster cartridges – they were marked 27.99 but the flyer said 24.99, buy one get one free. Then I had a $5 coupon I took from a magazine at the Dr’s office – that’s right, I ripped it right out of his office magazine – I ain’t got no class any how!
I paid $20 for $56 worth of tapes, and one was Wolverine so he will be able to pull himself away from the DS to do the more scholarly Leapster! Oh how I enjoy spending money to save it!
On to Macy’s where I had a tie to return. There was absolutely nothing to purchase with my 20 credit so I bought Godiva chocolate. I ended up paying $1.03 for 1 pound of Godiva, the Xmas box was half off and cause it was on sale they let me use a coupon as well. I am ready to sit down and eat those for dinner (alone, I never share my personal collection of Godiva!)
Of course since my spouse is off work today I took his subway monthly pass to keep my out of pocket costs down as well!
