Tomorrow we leave on a jet plane for Paradise Island, Bahamas.
If you have been following my blog you know that means I got a deal!
I paid for 5 nights and got 2 for free, whoever had a job in April could write their pass at this joint!
With all the taxes and fees the Bahamas adds, i think I am paying $300 a night, thats a steal for this place (and a great time for the kid, he has been 2x already!)
For airfare I used 70,000 Amex points as cash and paid $400 out of pocket for the other ticket, I almost lost my deal cause I was waiting too long for JetBlue to come dwon in price and eneded up on Continental and we are not sitting together on the ride home (thats OK, there will be 8 other family members on the return flight!)
Food cost is the killer here.
You know cheapskate me will head into town first thing for a weeks worth of beverages, I cannot pay $8 for a large water at the pool, and as much as I want, I know it is fruitless to search the internet for a coupon for that!
Dinners will be an arm and a leg, but we have all year to pay it off!
Joining us will be my brothers family of 5, my parents, my sister and her BF, and my sis-in-laws aunt and uncle. We have been traveling with 11-16 people for the last 4 Thanksgivings and so far (I am now knocking on wood) it has worked out beautifully, I would not want to go here with just my spouse and child, he is used to being on this vacation surrounded by family which he loves!
And for anyone with kids, this place has 100 pools, 79 slides, 2 lazy rivers (one with rapids) and is a great vacation spot.
If you don’t hear from me, now you know why, I do not have a laptop to blog over there, I may be able to borrow some time form their business center or my family.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL!
wow, have fun with the family and at the beach! if i find a coupon for a free drink or dinner I will send it over your way!
