I also interviewed the voices behind the characters a few years back at Comic Con, that was awesome!

CartoonNetwork.com gets in on the action with an update to the Ben 10 Game Creator. Now fans can play as two new characters – be the ultimate sidekick as Rook or kick it as Kickin’ Hawk! Adding to the excitement around the Ben 10 Bootcamp marathon weekend event, on Monday, March 18, Cartoon Network will offer fans free episodes and discounted seasons of the series across iTunes, XBOX Live, PlayStation Network and GooglePlay.

Cartoon Network Celebrates Ben 10 Week March 19-24! With Pics!

Ben 10, the ultimate teen superhero and global superstar, takes over Cartoon Network with an entire week of on-air and online content beginning Monday, March 19.  All week long, fans can start their day with special episodes from every Ben 10 series airing each morning at 6:30 a.m. (ET, PT) then catch their favorite episodes of Ben 10: Ultimate Alien at 4 p.m. (ET, PT).

In addition, Cartoon Network.com launches the next Ben 10 Game, The Mystery of the Mayan Sword. All this leads up to the U.S. television premiere of the all-new CGI movie, Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens on Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m. (ET, PT).  Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens turns the clock back to 10-year-old Ben Tennyson, fresh off his heroic summer vacation with the Omnitrix, as he struggles with detention, homework, and being grounded by his parents. Desperate times call for desperate measures as Ben jumps at the chance to escape from it all and into the Total Alien Immersion training program on the far side of the galaxy. But before he can even leave Earth’s orbit, Ben’s ship is attacked and he is sent crashing back to Earth stuck in his alien forms and battling a very hostile Mecamorph warrior. We love the special Ben 10 movies and are looking forward to this year’s entry!

Following the movie, which will also premiere on Cartoon Network around the world throughout the spring, Ben 10 fans will get their first-ever look at the much anticipated brand-new series, Ben 10: Omniverse, premiering later this year on Cartoon Network. I got a sneak peek of some of the toys to support the Omniverse, my son and I are very excited!

Cartoon Network to Premiere Original Documentary on Bullying, “Speak Up,” Sunday, March 18

Speak Up, an original documentary from Cartoon Network, captures the authentic, everyday stories of America’s bullied kids and the youth who have helped them. The half-hour film is an extension of the network’s nationally recognized and award-winning pro-social initiative Stop Bullying: Speak Up, which seeks to empower all kids to take part in the growing movement to help bring an end to bullying. This moving, thoughtful and hopeful program consists of candid interviews with kids, mostly between the ages of 8 and 13 years old, who either are or have been the target of bullies, bystanders in a bullying situation or even bullies themselves. Demonstrating remarkable courage to speak openly and honestly about their own experiences, these brave youngsters offer empathy, strength and reassurance for all victims of bullying, as well as to bystanders, with a clear message that speaking up is the best way to bring about an end to bullying.

Additionally, the young hosts of Cartoon Network’s Dude, What Would Happen (CJ Manigo, Ali Sepasyar and Jackson Rogow); Chris Webber (Five-time NBA All-Star); Matt Wilhelm (Pro BMX champion); and NASCAR drivers Trevor Bayne (2011 Daytona 500 winner), Jeff Burton and Joey Logano (the youngest NASCAR champion) appear in the film to share their experiences about bullying and to encourage kids in finding the best ways to reach out for help. I know my son will pay attention as he is a huge fan of Dude, What Would Happen.

This is an important topic for everyone. I have posted similar notices before because I was bullied as a kid. Can you guess why? Ironically, my son is the opposite of me, I try to teach him to be a gentle giant and befriend kids that are bullied if he ever sees that type of situation.

Before, during and immediately following the telecast, renowned bullying prevention expert and author Rosalind Wiseman will answer viewer questions about key issues online at www.StopBullyingSpeakUp.com.

Why I Want Joan Lunden’s NEW Eco Friendly Cookware From QVC!

Award winning journalist, New York Times best selling author and mother of seven, Joan Lunden is about to add one more title to her name as she heads to QVC to launch pieces from her first eco friendly cookware line. Created in partnership with The Cookware Company, the former Good Morning America anchor is scheduled to introduce pieces from Twiztt by Joan Lunden collection on March 14th at 9 PM (ET) during QVC’s In the Kitchen with David show (you can see David and I below!). Twiztt by Joan Lunden cookware is coated with Corona™, an innovative mineral ceramic non stick coating that is completely free of plastic synthetics and harmful PTFEs and PFOAs (see below for a full explanation of those terms and why they are important).

I reviewed similar items in the past and I absolutely love cooking with ceramic non stick pots and pans. The clean up is amazingly easy and the fact that there are no questionable chemicals like the ones found on the other non stick pans we all have in our homes, is an added huge bonus. That’s why I am listing the Joan Lunden QVC offerings below, ceramic is the only type of non stick cookware  I use.

Pieces from the Twiztt by Joan Lunden line include:

Twizt by Joan Lunden 11 Inch Square Nonstick Grill Pan
QVC Item # K36477
$40.00

Twizt by Joan Lunden Two Piece Nonstick Frypan Set
QVC Item # K36476
$40.00
Includes an Eight Inch Open Fry Pan and 10-Inch Toss and Turn Pan

Twizt by Joan Lunden 10 Inch Curved Skillet with Bowl and Cutting Board
QVC Item # K36478
$60.00

Pieces from the Twiztt by Joan Lunden collection will be available through QVC starting March 14th at QVC.com or 1-800-345-1515.

NOTES (taken from Beka):
PFOA is a chemical that is used in the manufacturing process of traditional non-stick coatings. It is not present in finished cookware, so there is never a health risk for consumers, but during the manufacturing process the chemical can damage the environment and the health of the factory workers. For the production of the new ceramic coating no PFOA’s are necessary.

Ceramic coatings are water-based and do not contain PTFE-chemicals. It is sometimes said that if you would accidentally overheat a traditional non-stick coating, the PTFE-chemicals inside could be released into the air. The ceramic coating can resist much higher temperatures than a traditional coating, so there is less chance of overheating and damaging the coating. The ceramic coating is very hard and has a contemporary glossy look.

Movie and TV Updates Ahead!

Why?
Because I love this stuff!

My Visit With Nickelodeon! I Met Dora! Great Programming Ahead!

I had the pleasure this morning of attending a walk through for some new programming at Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. It was so exciting, especially since I got to meet the actress behind the new voice of Dora! My son was raised on Dora and started learning Spanish from her. He is almost 9 so Dora was the only available multilingual programming for us at the time, and she was and is the best!

We also got to preview the newest Dora, the Explorer episode:  Dora’s Rescue in Mermaid Kingdom, which premieres  Fri., 3/16 at 10am ET on Nick! Can you imagine sitting in the Nickelodeon theatre 1 row behind the voice of the iconic Dora, watching this new episode? Yes, bloggers in NYC are the luckiest folks around. If you can’t tell, I am a big fan and will always be grateful for the lessons Dora’s show taught my son., this was a treat!

We also got to hear about how the new world wide initiative to feature kids form around the world so we can all  learn how everyone else lives. I t was a wonderful day with the folks at Nickelodeon, from Bubble Guppies to Team Umizoomi to Dora and Diego! Tanks Nick Jr.!

Disclosure: I received a gift bag for attending the event (look for those as giveaways!). All opinions are always 100% and my own.

Nicktoons New Show, Monsuno, Premieres Thursday!

Get ready for action when Nicktoons launches “Monsuno,” a half-hour action-adventure series, with two back-to-back episodes on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 8:00 p.m. (ET).

About “Monsuno”
Millions of years ago, “Monsuno,” a living DNA, hitched a ride to Earth in a concentrated asteroid pocket. When it landed on Earth, the impact drove the dinosaurs into extinction. The “Monsuno” DNA lay dormant until a scientist named Jeredy Suno activated it, sending a rippling wave of movement back into action. By doing so, Jeredy may have reignited the end of the world but he also created its salvation, the “Monsuno” monsters. Now, it’s up to his son Chase to learn the secrets of “Monsuno” and help save the world from impending destruction. In the 52-episode series, the fate of the world lies in the hands of a group of heroic kids who wrestle with the power to command and battle creatures called “Monsuno.”

Premiere Episode Details: “Clash”/”Courage”
In the series debut episode, “Clash” (premiering Feb. 23 at 8:00 p.m.), Chase and his two best friends learn that Jeredy is missing. Jon Ace and S.T.O.R.M. (Strategic Tactical Operatives for Recovery of Monsuno) join Chase at the lab, but it is soon revealed that they are after the fully-loaded Core that Jeredy left behind for his son.

Then, in “Courage” (premiering Feb. 23 at 8:30 p.m.), Chase discovers that his father had created a Monsuno called Quickforce, who is being held captive and experimented on by S.T.O.R.M. Chase leads a brave infiltration of the S.T.O.R.M. facility in order to save Quickforce.

I  previewed the Nick show and the toys from Jakks Pacific  just prior to New York’s Toy Fair and I can’t wait to watch and play this with my son!

Pan Am Season Finale – With Celeb Pics!

LOVE LOOMS LARGE AS NEW YEAR’S APPROACHES, ON ABC’S “PAN AM”
Ashley Greene (“The Twilight Saga” Films) and Darren Pettie (“Mad Men”) Guest Star

“1964” – Life has changed on a dime for the crew of Pan Am. Since President Kennedy’s assassination and as New Year’s Eve approaches for the start of 1964, everyone’s lives are hurtling towards new starts: Colette is caught up in a whirlwind courtship with a foreign prince, and Dean is still kicking himself over losing her; Amanda and Ted’s wedding plans are racing forward, thrilling his family, but making him more nervous by the day; Kate’s spy supervisor, Richard, is shot and she tries to figure out whether he or someone else is a double agent — He warns her that the first person to ask her how he is doing will be the double agent, but the first person who does is the one person she never imagined; and Amanda makes Laura a startling offer. Meanwhile, Broyles puts Maggie in a life-threatening position- which sparks a major attraction to him- Laura forges on, still loving the man she can’t have, and Dean is put on trial for the decisions he made during the Haiti landing, on the Season Finale of “Pan Am,” Sunday, February 19 (10:01-11 p.m. ET) on the ABC Television Network.

If you are wondering why I am not in period costume above, well, it is because I am not in the finale! This is Part 2 of my Pan Am posts, the finale is this Sunday. Again, besides being a terrific show, there is also a history component which makes it even more interesting. Plus for me, my father-in-law was in several episodes as an extra!
