Staples – Free Custom Return Address Stamps!

I ordered mine yesterday and picked it up today. I paid $22.99 plus tax. I will get Staples rewards of $22.99 back. I shop here often so having a rewards credit never goes to waste. For example, I used my last rewards check (from the batteries that were free after the rewards) to purchase a 16GB USB which was on sale this week (I also had a coupon for that!). How do they stay in business with me getting these amazing deals all the time!

Day of Disney Ahead

Talking Claritin for Allergies with Dancing With the Stars’ Brooke Burke-Charvet!

I had the distinct pleasure this week to attend the premiere of a great allergy video starring Claritin and Brooke Burke-Charvet!  And as an added bonus there was an allergy doctor there to discus any issues we had, and wouldn’t you know it, it was Dr. Paul Ehrlich, my son’s old allergy doctor!

I am a year round allergy sufferer and have been taking Claritin for a few years now. That is why I accepted the Claritin moms crew membership, and why I was looking forward to this event. My son also has allergies and we never know when they will strike, so we always have Children’s Claritin on hand. Claritin is the No. 1 physician-recommended and pediatrician-recommended non-drowsy over-the-counter allergy brand which is important to me.  Also, the Claritin Rx-to-OTC switch in 2002 was the largest switch ever—and the first for a non-drowsy antihistamine. For more information visit Claritin.com!

Hellmann’s Parmesan Crusted Chicken by Jackie & Me With Video!

I made this recipe for my spouse, who, while he cannot ever give me a compliment (it’s been 20 years of marriage after all!), his mother actually brought up that he said this was a great dish. My mother-in-law is an expert cook and she asked me for this recipe – this is something that has never happened! She also couldn’t believe how simple it is to make, she kept asking if she needed to roll it (like rollatini), fry it, cover all sides, etc. I explained that the point is this is a super simple and quick dish that comes out delicious! Note – I am still in shock that anybody complimented my cooking – thank-you Hellmann’s!

My fellow Hellmann’s Real Foodie, Jackie, and I will show you how to make this delicious dish:

PARMESAN CRUSTED CHICKEN
A simple and juicy solution for dinner

4 servings

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 20 minutes

1/2 cup Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (about 1-1/4 lbs.)
4 tsp. Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs

1. Preheat oven to 425°.

2. Combine Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise with cheese in medium bowl. Arrange chicken on baking sheet. Evenly top with mayonnaise mixture, then sprinkle with bread crumbs.

3. Bake 20 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.

Also terrific with Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Light Mayonnaise or Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Canola Cholesterol Free Mayonnaise.

Cost per recipe*: $7.16

Cost per serving*: $1.79

*Based on average retail prices at national supermarkets.
Time saving Tip: Try making this dish with thin-cut boneless skinless chicken breasts! Prepare as above, decreasing bake time to 10 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked through.

TIP: Omit Parmesan cheese and have Magically Moist Chicken on table in less then 30 minutes.

DimensionU – Computer Learning Games To Keep Your Kids Engaged!

I would never find my son choosing something educational over watching TV. It is his favorite pastime. He is now a third grader in NYC and this is the year that state testing begins. TV will not help him prepare.

I was asked to check out a new website that will hopefully engage my son on the computer while allowing hm to play games.  DimensionU offers a fun, educational program that allows kids to play an action-packed computer game while simultaneously sharpening their math skills. And that is my hook as my son loves math!

DimensionU has taken math beyond the mundane by creating an exciting outlet for children to learn while earning rewards for their hard work. Through the reward-based ‘EdCred’ Educational Allowance system, DimensionU takes an innovative approach to motivating children to become stronger students. Each week parents pledge an allowance, which kids can collect once they complete a given educational challenge. A university study found that almost all students who used DimensionU increased their test scores by at least one letter grade. That is all I needed to hear, I would gladly pay an allowance for that!

We tested the game this past Friday. He tried the Meltdown game.  The allowance (money) motivation was a big contributor to get him interested, but once he started playing he was quite excited. He said he thought the game he was playing was like modern warfare except you are shooting goop. His character had a jet pack which he enjoyed. I was watching him and saw that indeed, kids will enjoy these games because they engage them with video games, something most kids want to play all day long. Oh yeah, my son also said what type of educational game lets you jump off buildings. He really enjoyed this experience, and I am going to be encouraging him to go back, we start testing this year and it continues through fifth grade. again i would pay any allowance to get his grade even higher than it already is!

Check it out for yourself, click on DimensionU!

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for DimensionU. I received a free trial of DimensionU to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank-you for participating. All opinions are always 100% my own and honest.

Fashion Friday! Shopping Courtesy of Children’s Place!

I am going to begin this post with the disclosure: I received a gift card to shop at the Children’s Place. I shopped for my son for free, Children’s Place paid.

So why should you believe this testimonial about how good their clothing is? I recommend this store because it is the only store where I shop for my son’s pants and shorts. If you follow this blog closely, you will notice that I never write about the other boys clothing stores. In fact, you may have noticed a gift card giveaway for one of those other stores, it was my own, I could not use it because this is where I shop! I do buy fancy, flashy designer tops at some boutiques, but all our bottoms, and about half of his tops come from Children’s Place!

The above jacket, great for Spring, was on sale and the perfect windbreaker for this coming season. I still can’t believe the price I paid for this item so early in the Spring shopping season!

The above pants come with their own self hemming capability (roll-up pants). My son is ready for the next size pants re the waist area, but the length is far too long. These types of pants work great for him as he never remembers to cuff them otherwise!

More shorts. I need at least 1 for every day, and with camp coming up, I am stocking up before they sell out! And of course, his favorite color scheme, camouflage, is represented!

Thank-you again Children’s Place!

You can shop online at Children’s Place here. I also get email updates, so please sign up and any current coupons will be emailed to you. I am also in their birthday club!

You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter!
