Drug Coupons! I Swear By This Site!

I just renewed my son’s back to school prescriptions, they need to have a supply on hand in case of emergency. Thankfully they have never used anything stronger than an allergy medicine!

I screwed up! I forgot to get my coupons! Well, I told the pharmacy to hold the 2 items I knew I could find coupons for, and then I thought it is time to share this again with you.

I have found a site on the Internet that acts as a clearinghouse for all the drug deals that are available (not every drug has a corresponding deal, but if there is one on the Internet, it is here!), prescription or not. And the best part of this is, even if you have the greatest insurance in the world, if there is a co-pay, these coupons will reduce the co-pay! Instead of a $25 co-pay for my Nasonex prescription, I give a $15 coupon printed by following the directions on this web site, and voila! I pay $10 instead!

I have the ability to pay less for drugs by ordering 3 month supplies through my “prescription by mail” plan from my health insurer. I compared those prices by renewing my prescriptions monthly at my store of choice, CVS, with the coupons available on the Internet. It is cheaper for me by over 35% to renew monthly at CVS with Internet coupons. For me that is significant.

I suggest you check here before any trips to your pharmacy, only if you want extra cash in your pocket! Drug Discounts

Even if you have insurance, you can still use these coupons! They link to prescription and on prescription drugs!!! Email me if you have any questions!

CVS – How To Shop Repost!

First, go to CVS and look for the tab for their coupons, usually on the top, CVS takes their coupons and a manufacturers coupon for the same item.

Then check out
http://www.iheartcvs.com/
Check for weekly specials. I live in Manhattan, the drugstores are the only places that accept Internet coupons, the supermarkets do not accept them. But beware, the Manhattan weekly brochure is usually 4 pages compared to the suburban CVS weekly brochure, they are usually over 12 pages long! I have been known to shop the Staten Island CVS to save money, that is how I got 4x 4 packs of Boost protein drink for free last year!

You must have a CVS extra care card and you have to register it on-line for email specials. You will get money off coupons on a regular basis. The important thing about these CVS money off coupons is use them FIRST! Otherwise you will be reducing your total order value and you may dip below the minimum needed to use the CVS coupon then you may not be able to use it. See example next:

Explanation: When I receive an email coupon for $4 off a purchase of $20, I carefully plan out my shopping list. I try to keep my purchase as close to $20 as possible to make the coupon worth 20%. You must use this coupon first, any other special will reduce your total and drop you under the amount to be eligible for the $4 off of $20. Hand any other coupons to the clerk after the $4 goes through. If you get an email coupon for $5 off of $25, do the math and follow the above instructions. If I have any other high coupons, this is when I use them. $5 off of Cetaphil (for $5 soap), $5 off of Ben-Gay (for $5.99 Ben-Gay) boosts my total to get towards the $20.

Lastly, every Saturday eve, I head to hip2save for the weekly CVS shopping guide. She collects the best deals on the Internet. She matches the CVS sales to the CVS coupon to the Manufacturers coupon. Yes, you can “stack” a CVS coupon with a Manufacturers coupon just like at Target. 2 coupons for 1 item is the way to go!

And always befriend a cashier. I am friends with the girls at my local CVS. There are less coupon arguments that way!

UPDATE! Everyone in my family has a CVS extracare card. That means when the Allegra allergy medicine became available over the counter there were deals to be had multiple times! I bought a 5 pill pack for $6.99. I got $6.99 in extrabucks to use for anything else, like milk which we go through many gallons a week here. I did this with every one’s card in the house. I mean the pills were free!

Outlet Shopping, How To!

Do not go to the outlets before reading this post!
They most probably have a website with coupons.

For example, I go to Woodbury Commons several times a year.
https://www.premiumoutlets.com/
(Yours may belong to a different umbrella organization, check them for their own deals, google it, search the net, there are always extra deals to be had for insiders!)

You must join the VIP club – then you can print coupons AND a coupon for a coupon book available at the info desk at this outlet chain. I can also get that coupon book with my AAA card or my MasterCard with the Continental airline logo. What’s better than a coupon at a discount store, especially when they have their semi-annual sales!

It feels as if I am in Italy, when I go to Woodbury Commons. I hope the Armani store has some nice things on sale for me!

Supermarket Shopping How To, Repost!

I live in Manhattan. The prices here run from high to absurd. We are very blessed to live here and also have a car. It is important that my son see his relatives often, and that is the easiest way to do it (so I told my spouse!). Almost every Sunday we go to the Italian side of the family for Sunday dinner. Besides being absolutely delicious, it is my chance to shop where things are at a more reasonable price. I drop off my boys and head to the supermarket. Yes, I am really an old Jewish lady.

My prep work at home includes searching on-line for the current sales circular of the supermarket I am going to visit. I make a list of things I need and a list of things on sale. I cross reference with my coupons. My average savings at the Staten Island Waldbaum’s is 50%. On a $70 shopping trip, paying $35 is not too shabby.

For your prep, my first plug is for http://www.hip2save.com/. I visit this site several times a day and print out some awesome coupons. The next site I get great coupons from is http://www.printablecouponspot.com/. These sites will tell you even if there are companies offering great coupons on their respective facebook pages!

Next is the king of grocery sales sites, http://www.livingrichwithcoupons.com/grocery-store-deals This is one of my favorite sites for grocery shopping. I gave you the link directly to the supermarket listings that she covers. I use this site when I am going to Shop-Rite. Every combination of coupon is discussed vs. sale item. I have gotten free milk (I lie, they paid me in overage!), and I have gotten Aunt Jemima waffles for $.24. (lucky for them, there is not a Shop-Rite nearby, they might have to declare bankruptcy!) .

She also explains “Catalina” coupons, that is where when you buy certain items and then you get back a store “cash” coupon good on your next purchase of anything. That is how I made money a few months back on 6 gallons of milk!

Now, I know not all of you are old ladies like me with too much time on their hands. Just try some of these things, see if it is worth your time to save $50 or more a week!

And I do not accept cash payments for this advice!

B & G Foods: Cream of Wheat, Polaner, Maple Grove Farms, and Coupons!

Saturday morning was a wonderful time of taste testing the various products from B & G Foods!
They took my son skating and then they just fed me for an hour. So you know this is going to be a happy blog post!

We love all things Cinnabon, so Cream of Wheat Cinnabon was a no brainer for my spouse and I.
It was as delicious as you would think. I even have a coupon for you below!
I have to admit I was prejudiced going into this event. I have all these breakfast foods in my house, and more. And whenever I have the choice, it is the oatmeal that does not get chosen. The various cream of wheat products are more enjoyable in my opinion, I like the smoothness of the food. With some added flavorings the cream of rice is one of my favorites.

Marissa Lippert, a NYC registered dietician, was also on hand to discuss the importance of breakfast. We have all heard about the importance of breakfast before, what helped me (and more my spouse who does not eat well during the work week) was understanding what is going on in the body in the morning. If you eat breakfast, you start your metabolism on time and burn calories throughout. My spouse complains about lethargy from starchy breakfasts, so it was a great help to have a dietician on hand to explain: complex carbs like cream of wheat, etc., are going to be more helpful than a bagel breakfast. That leaves us snoring at our desks!

I am also always rushing, so I never considered mixing my own yogurt, I only buy the premixed. Having the opportunity to eat plain yogurt with my own mixings was something that I just never considered, it was great to have the opportunity to mix in various Polaner fruit flavors with granola and anything else you want, to make your own homemade yogurt mix, which ended up not being time consuming!

I also have to add that my favorite food at this wonderful breakfast was a muffin that had been baked with molasses. Enough said!

Coupon time!

Disclosure: I received a myriad of products to taste test. All opinions are 100% my own.

Drug Discounts for Almost Everything, Reduces Co-Pays! Repost

Do you want to save money? I have found a site that is a clearinghouse for all the drug coupons that are available on the Internet. If you have health insurance you can use these drug coupons to reduce your co-pay on non-generic prescriptions. I find this to be amazing.

Seasonally I have to buy prescription allergy and asthma drugs for several members of the family. I have been able to find $15 and $20 coupons for some of my regular prescription refills and saved more money on my prescription drugs by using these coupons. These coupons are deducted from your health insurance co-pay!

I have the ability to pay less for drugs by ordering 3 month supplies through my prescription by mail plan through my health insurance. I compared those prices by renewing my prescriptions monthly at my store of choice, CVS, with the coupons available on the Internet. It is cheaper for me by over 35% to renew monthly at CVS with Internet coupons. For me that is significant.

Non-prescription items are also to be found on this site. I suggest you check here before any trips to your pharmacy, only if you want extra cash in your pocket! Drug Discounts

Free Food at Target

Gotcha!
It takes work, but it is possible!

1. I am constantly printing coupons as suggested from Hip2Save. Then when the deals come through, I am ready.
I also go to Printable Coupon Spot, sometimes this site has other items and does not overlap hip, but mostly it does if you only have time for 1.

2. Target has their own coupons right on their website, Target. Scroll down and look about half way on the left. Most, but not all coupons, are from Target itself. Some are from the manufacturer. Here’s why it is important – Target will accept 2 coupons for 1 item if you “stack,” that means use 1 Target coupon and 1 Manufacturers coupon for the same item.

This is how during the holiday season I scored many boxes of Stove Top stuffing for free, many 6 packs of Jell-o for a very low price from the retail cost, and a lot of candy almost free at the holiday clearance with coupons that I saved that did not expire until after the various holidays (Xmas, Valentines Day, etc.).

3. Lastly, for the match-ups, go to Totally Target. I understand you are not all bored housewives like me with too much time on your hand. That’s why I have attempted to write this all down succinctly for you so you can follow my instructions and get things for cheap. Totally Target will match 3 amazing things. Current sales from the flyer, both published and non-published, Target house coupons, and Manufacturers Coupons. That’s 3 opportunities to reduce the price of Targets products. That’s how I like to shop! Almost all of these sites also give you the direct link to all the coupons that they mention!

Last example, I wanted a Sonicare toothbrush for my rotting teeth and gums. For several weeks there was a half off sale from $80 to $40 at Target. There was a Manufacturers coupon from Phillips for $10. There was a Target coupon for $10. There was a $10 rebate to mail in (I just received my check). The $80 item was purchased by me for $10. This is an item I use regularly, I can always use a spare at home. That was an amazing deal, they are not all that good, but you never know!

(Did I need 4? That’s another story for an addiction blog. Needless to say everyone in the family is hopefully getting these $10 rebate checks! Don’t tell Phillips!)

The “How To” should be in this blog post, please follow these instructions before you visit Target to save the maximum amount of money!

I Turned the Snow Day into Couponing Day

I hope it helps someone!
