A world without UNDERPANTS?!!!
When we last saw our heroes, George and Harold, they had been turned into evil zombie nerds doomed to roam a devastated, post apocalyptic planet for all eternity. But why, you might ask, didn’t the amazing Captain Underpants save the boys from this frightening fate? Because Tippy Tinkletrousers and his time-traveling hijinks prevented George and Harold from creating Captain Underpants in the first place! Now, having changed the course of human history forever, they’ll have to figure out a way to CHANGE IT BACK.
Could this be the end for Captain Underpants?!!
For fans ages 7 and up. Check out this sneak peak:
We have been reading this series for years. My son loves this series! Me, I am just happy when he reads! This new book was on the table when he came home from school, he just grabbed it and read straight through. As the parent of a child that does not love homework, I was thrilled. Plus it makes reviewing this easy. And, then he gets credit towards his “must read 25 books for the school year” list, under picture books, 2 of which are required by March 1st. This has been a positive experience all around!
But wait! The first thing I had to do years ago, when we first started reading this series, was explain that this could not possibly happen with his Principal! We have enjoyed this series for a very long time, I got nervous when my son was younger that he thought he might get to see his school’s Principal in her underwear! Thankfully, that never happened. But we have kept reading all of these great books, and of course this new entry into the series continues the great tradition and leaves us hungering for another book, but will Dav be able to get our heroes about of their latest predicament? You have to read the book to find out!
Author Dav Pilkey created his first stories as comic books while he was in elementary school. Since then, in addition to the Captain Underpants series, his Scholastic books include numerous popular, award-winning books for children, such as Dog Breath, winner of the California Young Reader Medal; The Paperboy, a Caldecott Honor Book; The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby, which debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list; and the Dumb Bunnies series. He is also the author of the New York Times bestselling The Adventures of Ook & Gluk: Kung-Fu Cavemen from the Future, who didn’t love that one! He also wrote the Ricky Ricotta books, where the hero had adventures involving most of the planets in our solar system. My son and I both used to love reading those books together!
