Hotel Transylvania was Awesome!

Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s lavish five-stake resort (get it, instead of 5 star!), where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of the world’s most famous monsters — Frankenstein and his wife, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more — to celebrate his daughter Mavis’ 118th birthday.

For Drac, catering to these infamous friends is no problem — but his world could come crashing down when a human stumbles on the hotel for the first time and befriends Mavis.

Columbia Pictures presents a Sony Pictures Animation film, Hotel Transylvania. The film features the voices of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade, and CeeLo Green. Wow. What a great cast! And even though you can’t see these actors and actresses, they were awesome as cartoon characters, their humor shown through!

As a co-dependent parent, I totally related to Dracula’s desire to protect his daughter:

“One of the toughest things you have to do as a parent is to let your children go out into the world,” says producer Michelle Murdocca, who has shepherded the film since its inception. “You can’t protect them forever; you just have to trust that they’re going to be able to take care of themselves. It turns out that even Dracula thinks the world can be a scary place sometimes.”

I feel the same way with my son! Of course, the inevitable comes and our kids will have to go out into the real world without us, but you can’t blame a parent for trying, whether it is a poor city dad like myself, or the world’s most infamous vampire, Dracula. Who by the way tried to bite me!

The movie was great! My son and I loved it. I will happily see it again, and this is not something I often say in a movie review. There was a lot of fodder for jokes with the monsters being the ones in fear of the humans, and the writers did a great job with the material. And what a great cast of characters! There were a lot of stars in this movie and again, they all added their own personalities and that certainly came through, they were all hilarious!

This is the must see movie of the Fall, opening September 28, I have no doubt you will love it!
