It started with a tiff, my son did not want to go into Walgreen’s, I was going to buy him Arizona Iced tea on sale, it wasn’t even a trip for me.
Then he spotted these crazy rubber bands. This craze started during the school year but my son only became interested during camp. He tells me the value of certain shapes and he trades with people at camp, typical 7 year old nonsense.
His friend’s 5 year old brother had a Yankees bandz and my son tried to trade with him, but I knew the younger kid was getting taken advantage of, so I put the kibosh on the trade. When he saw the Baseball collection above at Walgreen’s, everything changed, he was not at all sorry for the trip intio the store. He had to have these bandz. Clearly I acquiesced, but I did make him pay for this pack. I just hope he doesn’t figure out that it is generic baseball and not the Yankees.
Me, I spoil the kid rotten. Of course I had a $5 Walgreen’s coupon, so I also bought Toy Story 3, Superman, and Scooby Doo bandz. I will dole those out slowly over the coming weeks. I had purchased some in the retail district 2 weeks ago, but you get what you pay for – enough said!
